Michael Edwards, President and CEO of HealthWare, was co-founder and principal owner of HealthCare Communications, the developer of DentalMac® and MediMac®, the world’s best-selling health care software for the Macintosh.

HealthWare is a Macintosh company. It has been, through its principals, since 1984, when Michael Edwards bought a 128k Macintosh with a 9” black and white screen. There was no hard drive. There was no existing database system. But he knew that what he was looking at was a true epiphany in personal computing.

A year later, DentalMac® was born, and a year later, MediMac® was developed. These were the first available health care software applications written for the Mac. Almost twenty years later, DentalMac and MediMac had been installed in thousands of practices in the United States and eleven foreign countries.
